POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Assistant Professor Ruminant Nutrition-Dairy Department of Animal Science – St. Paul College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resources Sciences (CFANS) UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA Assistant Professor, tenure-track (9-month) position with Research (50%) and Teaching (50%) responsibilities involving dairy cattle nutrition. The position is in the Department of Animal Science (https://www.ansci.umn.edu/), College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resources Sciences (https://www.cfans.umn.edu/), located on the St Paul campus of the University of Minnesota (https://twin-cities.umn.edu/about-us). The individual in this position will work closely with Minnesota dairy producers and UMN faculty and students to conduct research and deliver solutions along the continuum of nutrient production and management from harvest to utilization, and recycling through manure. The successful candidate may focus their research efforts toward, but not limited to, one or more or the following areas: meeting dairy nutrient requirements while reducing environmental impact, developing and/or testing antimicrobial alternative feeds and feed additives or enhancing nutritional content of milk. The successful candidate is expected to develop independent as well as collaborative research and teaching programs, and to recruit and mentor graduate students including those from culturally diverse backgrounds.
